This beta was released on August 10, 2026. There are three downloads: one for computers, one for Android, and one optional file for the 3D-style Dramatic Shapes view.
One download for computers
Use this download on Windows, Mac or Linux, then follow the matching setup notes for your computer.

Choose carefully
The filenames are unusual, so compare the full name before clicking. Do not choose the automatically added files named Source codeon GitHub; they are not the normal player downloads.

Important computer setup
After extracting the full computer ZIP, keep every file in the same folder. Start it with the item listed for your system below. The first launch may ask to add supporting software before Pokemon Gold or Silver can open.
Double-click Play-Windows.bat. It checks the computer and may ask Windows to install what Gen2Recomp needs.
Double-click Play-Mac.command. The first run may ask for Apple command-line tools, Homebrew and the LÖVE game app.
Linux needs Python 3 and LÖVE 11 installed first. Then runscripts/play.sh from the extracted folder.
Android uses the separate .apk download. Do not extract or use the computer ZIP on a phone or tablet.
After downloading
Computer users should extract the download before opening it. Android users may need to approve installation from their browser or file manager. The first Gold or Silver setup can take a couple of minutes.
