Ten files are meant for players. Match the full filename below and do not choose GitHub's automatically added files named Source codeon GitHub; they are not the normal player downloads.

Important computer setup
Start the package made for your computer
Extract the complete download and keep its files together. Windows, macOS and Linux now have separate ready-to-run packages.
Windows
Choose the Windows app ZIP, extract it and openGen2Recomped.exe.
Mac
Extract the macOS ZIP, move Gen2Recomped.app to Applications and open it.
Linux
Extract the Linux ZIP and run the included AppImage. Steam Deck uses this package in Desktop Mode.
Other devices
Switch requires homebrew, Xbox requires Developer Mode and the RG34XXSP package requires the Stock OS 64-bit MOD with PortMaster.

Continue with the guide for your device
Computer users should extract the download before opening it. Console and handheld users must meet the requirements shown above. The first Gold, Silver or Crystal setup can take a couple of minutes.
