Gen2Recomp Changelog

See what changed in recent Gen2Recomp versions, which Pokemon Gold and Silver problems were fixed, and what to do before installing an update.

Last updated:

Current version

0.6.0 Beta

Current beta Released August 10, 2026.

  • Fixed the Team Rocket basement switch puzzle in Goldenrod.
  • Fixed walking through walls while sliding on ice in Ice Cave after Mahogany Town.

These fixes matter most to players continuing a Gold or Silver journey through Johto. The update does not say that imported save event progress is fully fixed, so that warning remains.

Before updating Gen2Recomp

  1. Copy your important progress and settings.
  2. Keep the previous working version until the update is tested.
  3. Read whether the new version asks you to prepare the game again.
  4. Open the normal game before enabling Dramatic Shapes or other mods.
  5. Check that movement, battles and saving work before continuing.
